Giriraj Swami gave a brief talk and Madhava dasa led a sweet kirtan at this yoga studio in Lakewood, Dallas.

Mana means ‘mind,’ and tra menas ‘to free.’ So, the mantra frees the mind from materialistic bondage, from anxieties and misconceptions. The word ‘maha‘ means ‘great.’ The Hare Krishna maha-mantra is the great chant for deliverance. It is composed of three words: ‘Hare,’ ‘Krishna,’ and ‘Rama’. ‘Hare’ refers to the energy of the Lord — ‘Radha’; when addressed, ‘Radha’ becomes ‘Radhe,’ or ‘Hare.’ ‘Krishna’ means ‘all-attractive’ — the supreme in all attractive qualities. And ‘Rama’ indicates the supreme pleasure and is a another name for Krishna. So, these three names are arranged scientifically as sixteen: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.”
